So many men on this site say that the courts are biased, etc. in favor of women getting the children, etc. but the thing is there has to be a reason why.
Judges are supposed to be just & fair and logically that means statistically there is something unfavorable for men to have custody versus women having custody.

I don't have to imagine anything, I was basically the primary caregiver to my son from the age of 2, when my ex-wife decided she wanted to go back to work full-time at the hospital. I had to quit my job that I worked 13 years to get, and go to work part-time so our son would be cared for. Then a few years later my ex started cheating with her coworkers so I separated from her. She continued to work full-time and I moved away with our son. I took care of him from the age of 7 to 15. Now the only reason he lives with her is because he can take care of himself and it's closer to his school, she's still never around.
Cry me a river, millions of women have to do this or don't even get an opportunity to work at all. Your embittered attitude towards the fact that you had to take care of your son during this time is just a strong indication as to why men do not have much success before a judge in custody battles.
by the way at 15 is not old enough to "take care of himself". Yet you say that. Despite the fact that his mother is supposedly not around. So, in many ways, you reveal yourself as having a "thank god, good riddance" ideology towards your own son.

If you were a decent father you'd still have your son, wouldn't you? But instead, you washed your hands of him when he was 15 despite the fact that the household setting - if mum isn't around - is not exactly good for him at that age.
I didn't wash my hands of him, she set up a bus schedule for him to be picked up her place.
She wants him now because he can do her dishes, do the laundry, take the dog out, and clean her place after school. I don't like that he's there, but we both have shared custody so I don't have much choice. Plus driving him to school and back was costing me a fortune for years and she didn't pay any child support. I'm finally in a position to work more and save for retirement this way, but i still pick him up from school some days and also see him on weekends so don't judge me as a parent until you know everything.
I mean the fact you're not exactly a good father is in your wording. He's 15 & you say he "can look after himself". How? He's not even old enough to have a job. He certainly can't drive.
His mother isn't there according to you. So how the fucking hell can he "look after himself"? What if there's an emergency is he supposed to CRAWL to the hospital?

I worked shovelling sand in the oil patch at 15 after school and on weekends.
Like I said my son takes care of my ex by doing her dishes, doing the laundry, taking her dog out, and cleaning her house all before he does his homework.
She was an absentee parent when he was little, and now she just uses him.

No, it just means the court system has been infiltrated by communism. Judges are people. Not all people have the same ideological beliefs. Not all people are good. You're starting from the premise that judges are fair, honest, and logical which is wrong assumption. Statistically 68 percent of lawyers who've made any political contributions give their money to Democrats. Therefore it is logical they will pursue communist leaning ideas like destruction of the nuclear family and will attack the patriarch at least 68% of the time.
If you look at the granularity of the data and focus specifically on divorce court, I'm sure that specialty is even more heavy bias.
In recent years you have seen how the courts have tossed out various election fraud cases with absolute bias. You've seen violent criminals who have assaulted, murdered, and raped people released the same day many times without charges due to those people being left wing communist activists.
