Are parents only 50% responsible for raising a good person with morals?

My cousin and her husband just had their first child several months ago. It's a baby boy. They want to raise him to be a good man of actions with good values and not a POS like some (not all, some) men are nowadays in this generation.

They don't want want their son to grow up being a future faker, a user that strings along women for sex nor another of those Chads. Are parents only 50% responsible of what their children become as an adult?

Their baby boy is obviously an innocent human, pure of malice. They don't want their child to later on be corrupted.

You can't apply a number. But the point that you're getting at is true. You can raise a child (in theory) perfectly doing everything right and setting all the right examples and teaching all the right things. That child still makes choices. Some of their choices will be bad. Wrong. Against your teachings. Etc. Some of that is experimentation and learning from mistakes. Other times it's deliberate choices and not caring about consequences or not believing/understanding that there are consequences. Still others choose to be malicious. None of that is on the parent. But you can't apply a number, a specific percentage to it.

My kids seemed to turn out okay but I give most of the credit to my wife. However I knew a couple of guys that were just as involved with their kids as I was and their kids still turned ot to be assholes. sometimes it is just a crapshoot.

Parents have two responsibilities: to be decent people and teach decent morals. How much they invest in those things varies but if you meet basic thresholds, than all that matters is you did what you could. Raising righteous children benefits the parent as well as the child and is both the right and smart thing to do.

As you say, they may do 50% then the social media and maybe even education takes over. Right? Parents are capable of replacing that too, with the right stuff. So it's much closer to 100%. Unless he's genetically defected to be a psychopath.

Sort of. You can raise someone however you want, it doesn't mean they'll abide those morals or anything like it.

It not exact science, it can be more than 50%, maybe they can send him to a good school.

That sucks. They can only do so much, raise their kid to be a good man but the rest falls on him and whoever he associates with, which sadly is easier nowadays due to social medias and internet acces. They don't want him to be corrupted by those red pill bitter people nor those against family, against commitment.
