What would you do if your parents hate your partner’s parents?

My partner is my neighbour and we know each other for 15+ years. My mother and her mother acts so nice in-front and gossip from back. They both doesn’t like each other inside.

Mostly my mom is the one who gossip more and comment badly on things that she doesn’t really know. If I say anything against her or if I try to make her realise that she’s doing unnecessary gossips, she’ll start crying.

I’m really afraid that her behaviour will create problems in my future married life.

As long as they are able fake their friendless towards each other then it shouldn't be an issue. It's probably a case of only see each other in "small doses' The more they spend time together the more likely they'll cause a toxic atmosphere. Just don't get into conversations about either of them in each other company.

If they really dislike each other and can't get along then you may need to consider never allowing them at your house together. Or even move out the area. You shouldn't have to worry about it jeopardising your future relationship. It's selfish of both patents if they can't fake getting along fur their son and daughters sake

We were really close and eventually got in relationship. Yes she gossip more now as I show more closeness to her family now
