I try not to "judge" anybody, since I'm such an imperfect wreck myself. Though it's difficult when you hear of a woman who's 30 years old and has 4 kids, all from different daddies, and another on the way, to not say "what the fuck?"

I've done a lot of volunteering at various charities, and the percentage of "parents" who come in with no form of income other than welfare and charity and no intention of changing that is quite astounding.

I think so long as they’re hard working, its fine if they use welfare. They’re the ones putting taxes into it; and they’re making lots of future tax payers themselves. I disagree with just sitting around and being lazy, but a big family using welfare isn’t necessarily that even if they depend on it.

I give credit to anyone who is trying. But there was a disturbing percentage of people who didn't even do that. I've seen people take free stuff claiming they had no money, just to turn around and buy cigarettes and lottery tickets. Meanwhile their kids are getting sent to school hungry because the parents were too lazy to cook the free food that was given to them. I'm grateful for charities, but working with them has only made me distrust people all the more.
