Is it boundary crossing when a single parent wants their adult child to share a bed with them when they visit, even when a spare bed is available?

During the time that your parents were together, did that mean that you never shared a bed with one of your parents, as the bed would be too full? Especially as an adult, do you think that it is boundary crossing when a single parent wants their child to sleep in the same bed with them when they come to visit?

I'd share a bed with my mom we're really close and i wouldn't mind at all. But if there is an extra bed I'm sleeping there. I wouldn't feel comfortable sleeping in the same bed as my dad. He would probably sleep on the couch and let me have the bed.

It is. When I lived at home and we had a lot of visitors and no place for her anymore, I offered my mom to sleep in my bed but it was me offering it and not her just doing it, especially when you do have a spare bed

Yes it is. I wouldn't want to share a bed with my parents. Now if it had to be because we had a 1 bedroom home. I'd rather be on couch.

An adult should be sleeping in their own bed, if one is available, not in bed with their parent.

If there was a really bad storm, we didn't mind sharing a bed with our mom. Even had it been an opposite sex parent, its appropriate as long as you’re dressed decently and stay on your side of the bed

I would not let my mom sleep with me if there’s a spare bed. If she tried to push it I’d think that’s weird and not allow her to cross that boundary even with her attempt.

If there is a spare bed I would be in it. The only exception would be if they were in bad health….. I think some can tell when their end of time with us is nearing.

I think that’s actually really stupid. Their bed is THEIR BED and my bed is MINES I had my own bed for a reason so I slept in it.

I had my own bed from 2 years old and so did my brothers because my parents were able to afford it.
