No, it's great that you get emotional support from your mom. That's really sweet actually. I don't think that's got a damn thing to do with being adult or not. I don't think there is an exact measure of an adult. I think some people never fully feel like one completely (I'm still waiting...).

I think perhaps having kids yourself forces you to be an adult (this is speculation, I do not have kids). But... you remember how freaking old your early 20's seemed to you when you were like 12 years old? That was clearly an adult. Looking forward you assume you're totally 100% grown-up by then in your 12-year-old mind. Then you get to 22 and you're like "shit... I'm clearly not an adult... wow was I wrong about how adult I was gonna be at 22".

I've found that sorta never stops happening. I wouldn't say that's universal... but I think its pretty common.

I think it's great that you and your mom are so close. There's nothing at all wrong with that. It's really awesome actually. 🙂

It's not bad to get support from your parents even as an adult, as long as you can still step out for yourself and not depend on them completely.

Adult is just an age (15-21, majority of Western world countries being 18-21) but at any age we need support from family.
