I have an uncle that always touches me inappropriately and calls me hot. I told my dad and he didn't do anything. What should I do?

My uncle is a lot older than me. He always touches me inappropriately and hugs me for too long. He even says stuff like I'm getting hotter every year. I'm 25. I don't feel comfortable around him, but he's always at a family member's house on holidays. When I told my Dad, he did not do anything to stop it. I don't want to cause a scene, but it makes me so angry. I'm worried that he's also doing this to other girls in the family.

I know what it means but, some people go overboard on this so, I'm NOT about to give a suggestion about a guy that maybe just put his hand on your shoulder for a moment. I know a guy that used to be a math teacher! One day, he gave the class a quiz and, while they were solving the problems he gave them, he wandered around the room and checked on some of their work, as teachers are won't to do. At one point, he stopped at the desk of one little girl, told her she was doing a great job and gave her a little pat either on her head or her shoulder and then went to the next desk. The next day, he was up on child molestation (or abuse) charges because she told her parents that he touched her!

Don't hug him. Don't interact with him. You've spoken your peace. And it was ignored. Talk to the other females in your family and get thier take. And if they don't agree, still shun him. This COULD be all in your head. But it's NOT worth the risk to assume it is. And it certainly isn't going kill your uncle to be shunned into at the least using better verbiage. And learning you don't want to be touched. You don't owe him a hug if it's uncomfortable to you... nobody does! Bottom line, we teach people how to treat us. And if they don't want to respect that it perfectly understandable to cut ties with those that don't respect our wishes.

Girl you need to wake up and take a stand for yourself before its too late because somewhere in your mid age you will regret staying silent and doing nothing. Do hard on him, tell police or whatever you think would be enough to stop him from harrasing you, just don't be quiet about it!.

You are an adult. Refuse to ever be in the same room with him, and tell your family and others why. Its not fun causing a scene, but he probably IS doing it to other girls in the family. Maybe not just to those over 18.

You don't want to cause a scene? Fucking cause a scene. Yell for him to stop touching you inappropriately. Embarass him and let people know he's trying to touch his niece. Don't tiptoe around it and let him do it just because you don't want to cause a scene.

Make a scene and embarass him. If his humility doesn't stop him from making those comments... then make yourself undesirable, burp in his face for example. If those don't work and your family still doesn't step in, remove yourself from the gathering to force their hand and set boundaries for you two

You are an adult. You can refuse to allow him to be physically close to you. You don't have to hug him or speak to him. I think you are right to be worried, but I don't have advice for you about protecting underage girls.

You should talk to the other female family members and ask them if this uncle acts the same way towards them. If anyone says yes you should have a family meeting without this uncle
