    Never.

Old man- doesn't text, he'll just call. <3

Old woman- barely ever unless i'm about to make a big move like the one today. Time to work and make that pain and suffering all worth it when i start my dream up

much more often than before. I came from a household where both parents suffered different kinds of child abuse (father was neglected, mother was outright beaten), so they were damaged. While not overtly abusive, often times they weren't the best at giving compliments. As time has gone on we've mended our relationship (granted, I was not the best son. I was rebellious at times and often a pain in the ass) and we're not like that anymore.

I send them weekly to my daughter, especially, since she is away at school. I try to give her lots of love and encouragement to keep doing a good job and her hard work will pay off.

My dad could give less of a shit about how I'm doing and my success, and mom is always sending me these annoying celebrity memes and quotes even though I could give less of a shit about what some egotistical celebrity has to say, but I appreciate the kind gesture and that she's thinking about me, at least

My mother wouldn't have the patience to send me a message but I speak to her almost daily and she's always encouraging. My father contacted me yesterday and my first thought was "oh fuck who is dying or dead this time".

This started happening when I failed to get into IIT/NIT in 12th. Its been four years now. Still hears about it. How much they sacrificed and all. As if I did not do anything.

Everything I do now, starts the rant. Studies are mixed in whatever, somehow. I have stopped giving heed now. It is not worth it.

@The_Shadow_Dweller When i first started making money, i didn't know wht to do with it so i would take them on shopping sprees or give 75% of my check to help my mom and grandparents with bills and groceries. About a year or two later i decided to keep 75% and only give them 25%. I constantly hear how i owe them for raising me in life etc despite still helping them with bills and stuff

You at least fire back at your parents. I know some people who do not even glare at when their distant relatives claim that this person is this thing because of us. Just how shameful is that.

Much more is the silence of the person.

Shortly after I moved away from home I started receiving letters of encouragement from my mother. Lot of times it was once a month. I went 6 months before I got any cutting encouragement. It may vary depends on my parents' activities.
