I don’t think there is enough information here to answer well. I mean if you are a billionaire and buying plane tickets to see a friend, vs someone who is struggling to make ends meet financially, there is a huge difference there. Technically it’s her money and so long as she isn’t doing anything illegal, it’s her choice on how to spend it. Finally, sometimes people learn best by making their own mistakes. It’s sad and unfortunate, but someday it’ll either work out for her, or not. All you can do is be there for her if it doesn’t work out. And it’ll be a great life lesson for her.
