I'm confused about this , with buying a friend tickets?

Most people say what they want but this person just talks in circles. it's her 45th birthday I told her that I wanted to buy her a ticket to a Broadway show and would she be available because I wanted to take her. She says " omygosh, I know my sister wanted to see that and I wouldn't want you to buy her a ticket " does this mean she wants me to buy a ticket for her and her sister to go? I don't mind but, I tried to ask and she said the same sentence over... I mean, I don't need to go... what do you guys think?

hahaha, I can see this being frustrating. The short answer would be: "if you don't mind" then you should buy her sister a ticket as well (I was unclear as to whether or not YOU were going with her... if not.. then definitely buy her sister a ticket too. A single ticket is a weird gift.) 🙂

I doubt she was hinting that she wanted you to buy one for her sister (she doesn't strike me as that 'smooth an operator'). Nevertheless, clearly she would enjoy it all-the-more if she were able to share the experience with her sister. If you can make that happen, then you know she's a happy-camper regardless of what the hell she means with all the jibber-jabber.

Exactly, jibber jabber... but, the plan wa I told her that I was going to take her to see the show and she said she was going with her sister and she couldn't expect me to buy her sister a ticket

haha, I also picture this woman as super-nice, and super-cute (which is why I'm thinking people put-up with the jibber jabber). So it sounds like it's a situation where the sister's have previously agreed to see this show together. So now the invite to see it with you, has monkeyed-up that plan. She really DOESN"T expect you to buy her sister a ticket, but at the same time, she feels wrong about going to see it without her sister.

So, I think my answer is essentially the same as before. You should, one-way-or-another, get your friend to that show along with her sister. THAT is what it sounds like would make your friend happiest.

So you can either buy her sister a ticket too, or, give-up your ticket to her sister. Whichever of those two options makes the most sense. That is the way to go. 🙂
