How do you respond when someone tries to improve your idea/plan?

Sometimes people are helpful, but sometimes they are not. It drives me crazy when I have an idea and someone "improves" on it only to make my idea resemble something else. Say you invent a fast car and a person pulls the wheels off to build a tricycle thinking they somehow made your idea better? How do you respond... when it's your SO?

Maybe you plan a relaxing day trip and the person adds a dozen errands to the trip. What then?

sometimes better isn’t better. Sometimes better is just different.

Be honest then and say that the suggestions are creative and appreciated but different from what

YOU wanted, and had envisioned.

Sometimes it’s good to tell hey about anyone that, you will ask them if you need any assistance. It’s good communication and it’s respectively assertive.

Other times you can just say “sounds good,” and not do it, and if they ask you reply with the truth that you had considered it but it wasn’t what you actually wanted.

Reminding people that you will consider their plans but MAY NOT choose them, is also respectful, mindful of confidence and ego, and establishes the plans you have in mind for your own goals and creations.

No need for Al of us to get bent out of shape.

Which is better? Or worse?

That person sees their plans altered/edited and they get something they didn’t want and have to use that or accept that altered reality? Someone else’s reality?

or

a person who threw out an idea for someone else, to be “helpful” and it doesn’t get selected?

If you’re honest, you’d probably say the first option is the worst thing to endure, so obviously making these situations and scenarios into

We do this all the time. It’s awesome we learn and grown to be better! That’s how we get better at things when we have people tell us things we may not have thought of. I have become a much better person because I appreciate those who are real to me.

I've been getting fed up with my relaxing days filled up with a bunch of things to do. I'll see some time off and my wife will see it as a chance to plan a family trip and basically turn the day into a giant chore.

I think I've learned over time to keep my ideas or thoughts to myself. Like a new workout plan for instance. I'll start doing it first and then after doing it for a while, I might talk about it. If I talk about it before I'm already doing it, people have a habit of trying to convince me to do it their way.

I'm opened minded sometimes and I'm willing to listen to their ideas. (Sometimes)

If their idea would really work then I would let them ad it to the design

But if I prove them wrong and in a nice way. I would tell them to fuck off and were going with my plain.

(Yes I even told an owner of company to fuck off and told him his ideas wouldn't work. He was pissed, but once he gave me a chance to prove it (most owners would've just fired me). He really liked my idea and went with it.

I tend to appreciate other people's thoughts and feedback. I'd listen to their ideas and decided if I liked them. If I did, I might incorporate them. If I didn't I'd say "Nah". But either way, the original idea/plan was mine, and I make the decisions. Nobody is going to hijack it.
