there’s this stray cat that’s been meowing outside my window 5 days in a row. this is around 2-4 am and i don’t live in the best area so im always afraid to go outside to see the cat. plus i’m afraid of cats so it just makes it another reason i can’t push myself to go outside. when i wake up i go out to check but there’s never a cat there. i can't take in anymore pets anyway but i feel bad and don’t know what to do.. when i see the cats around ny apartment during the day i avoid touching them but give them cans of tuna when i can but i have a lot of stray cats around so i don’t know which one would be meowing at my window. plus i never even see the cats near my front door or window.. it’s always in the back so i wouldn’t know how they knew my window

Cats are very resourceful. It won't starve in the city. Don't feed them unless you want them to keep coming around. As long as the cat isn't hurt or trapped, it'll move on somewhere else. Don't worry. by the way, really kind hearted of you to think about them.

You can keep feeding it, but if you do that, the cat might not ever go away. Or, you can get a live trap and try and catch it. Then either take it to a pound, or look for a facility that takes in strays.

Odds are it isn't a stray. Most cats have 3-4 families that take care of it.
