Opportunity to get back at someone? Should I do it?

Long story short, my ex friend came to my job and told a few lies about me to my previous employer, and got me fired. The police got involved because my ex friend brought another person with them during the incident, and the actions of the other person warranted a police call. Unfortunately, the police couldn’t do anything, because I was ultimately not physically injured. But I was told that if my ex friend and the other person were to show up to my job again, I could press harassment/stalking charges.

I found a few defamation lawyers that would take my case, but I couldn’t afford their retainer fees, so I tried moving on. Anyway, fast forward to about a year later, my ex friend and I no longer speak, however, I recently found out where they work. They are a school teacher and I’m thinking about contacting their principal to tell him what they did - I have pictures of the incident and a police report. But, I’m also a teacher (in a different county) and I’m not sure how me reporting this person will affect me. Should I do it?
