For those of you who had the fortune to NOT see this when it was trending in the news cycle in recent years, a 'Dubai Porta Potty', is a young lady from the west who goes to places like Dubai on luxury holidays and gets paid insane amounts of money for letting rich men defecate on them basically.
So I have this friend, she kind of failed at uni and moved back in with her parents, basically had periods of employment followed by periods of unemployment and repeat etc.
Anyway a while back she started posting loads of glamorous, racy photos to her IG, increasing her follower count and that. Then she started going on all these luxury holidays to places like Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and she'd be there for weeks staying at amazing hotels, going to amazing restaurants. And the people she's there with are other Instagram girls that I don't even know, but also have large follower counts. The thing is all these girls have these amazing luxury holidays, super expensive clothes, handbags, jewellery etc. some of them even have really expensive cars, BUT their follower counts aren't huge, it's okay but nothing like superstar numbers. Apparently they are 'models' and make a lot of money from endorsements, sponsorships and stuff but the thing is you can't see any actual modelling work they've done anywhere, or any products they've been sponsored by.
My friend especially, she's got literally NO portfolio as a model whatsoever, yet she tells me that's what she's doing out there. Modelling for Dubai based companies. If they are actually models, then why is the modelling work not public? Only logical answer is it's sexual.
Which makes me think of those horrible stories, and I'm worried about my friend, the thought of her doing... that, is really sad, and scary. So what should I do? Should I ask her about it? But the thing is I have asked her how she has so much money all of a sudden, and she insists it's this legit modelling work. But it doesn't add up to me.
