To me a long time is 12+ months. I understand people have their own lives and such.. but when they’re ignoring my messages, leaving me on read and don’t get back to me for a long time (12+ months) then yeah they’re not my friend anymore. Providing they were originally a friend that I talked to often through messages.
I would never ignore messages for sure
Not really, as most of my friends are adults with jobs, kids, school, etc... and sometimes we go days, weeks, even MONTHS without talking!
I'm okay with that... mostly because I'm just as bad, if not worse, about going a long time without checking in with my friends 😬
They've accepted I'm an antisocial geek, but they tolerate me, lol.
The only time it bothers me is when said person used to regularly check in, starts to talk to me less and less without a good reason... or I can we're drifting apart. I might check in or send them a quick text, but if they don't reciprocate the effort? I back off.
No, with real friends you can not say hi for a month for example and then y'all both still leave off where y'all left off last and still be chillin
Not really. Theirs some people I hadn't talk to for years then I got in touch with them and it felt like no time had passed.

Yes. Sure, we may not be friends but- okay listen, i'm thinking facebook. I had a good bunch of friends and we were the best... during school. These were people I knew... and when i posted something, I may got a like. But if I reached out to any of them like the old days, I got nothing. I even texted a girl I knew and we were basically sisters. However, she just disappeared and i didn't bother thinking of her again. Much less, any of my old friends. My game friends, are still- nope, just my husband is on my mind everyday. But Anyone else...:1
People get busy, such is life I suppose.
Also hi!!
hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii *waves*
This actually happened to me in middle school a person who I thought was my friend just stopped talking to me when we started 6th grade and in the past seven years she's only spoken to me three times
I would assume that they were busy. Also, I could always say "hi" to them. If they didn't reply then I would think that either something bad happened or they didn't want to talk to me.
People have a lot going on and I understand that. I wouldn't cut them off for that
I have friends I haven't seen or spoke to in years. People change and grow apart but they still love what they had at one point. If I were to call them or they me and they needed me we'd be there.
Not really. It goes both ways like I should say hi too! Lol.
True friends might not communicate for years,,,
I call them kind of friends, fair weather friends.
