Most of the people I knew as a child was part of the secular crowd and they judge you based on your income and appearance. I had friendships that began and ended and began and ended based on how much my appearance changed from one year to the next. I don’t have a lot of friends but they are loyal, I know they will be my friend if I’m 80 pounds and I know they will be my friend if I’m 500 pounds.

I befriend everyone. Then depending on their character I will interact with them more or less. If they choose to not friend me because of my looks, then that is ok with me. Jennifer, I too would be your friend if you were 80 pounds or 500. But I would be sitting down with you and having a serious conversation about how unhealthy those weights are and I would work with you to get you back to a healthy weight. That's what friends do. It's not about fat shaming or skinny shaming (is there such a thing?). It's about being a true friend. Someone only interested in friending you because of your looks will not be a lifelong friend... Very few of us look as good at 50 as we did when we were 25.
