Personally I wouldn't. If they made any negative comment/hint about my looks in front of my face or behind my back, I would cut them off. Cause that would be incredibly rude. Friends are supposed to uplift each other

I feel that a lot of people misunderstood the question. I'm not saying that friends should find each other attractive/beautiful. However, there's a difference between not finding someone attractive and batching about their looks behind their back or publicly announce you think they're unattractive.
I don't understand how some people are ok with it, but to each their own 🤷‍♀️

I have been when I was little, they ruined my self-esteem. They would go hot and cold on me, after bitching on me for years, one of them developed a crush on me. What a toxic a hole.🙏 But somehow for guys, all guy friends I've ever had beside a homosexual one, have fallen in love with me. Weird right? But I would be friends with them, only if I knew they didn't talk behind my back like that or if they're rude and have zero respect towards you at the start, just don't get involved in the first place.

I'd understand not being someone's type, but being considered straight-up ugly or bad-looking, why would you even feel that way about a friend? It automatically tells me that the person doesn't like me enough.

Scientifically, there is such a thing as mere exposure effect. We tend to like and prefer what we are more exposed to so I can't imagine someone I'm already good friends with NOT being anything but happy when thinking about me.

Also, there's another factor. What kind of friend puts down their friends' looks in public? Like I happened to come across comments like "looks don't matter to me, my best friend/wife isn't the most attractive person in the world, yet I'm still with them" on social media (even here on Gag) and I can't imagine how their wife or best friend would feel if they read these comments. I know my self-esteem would be shattered forever. Also, we tend to find people we're exposed to, as you said, so spending more time with someone and enjoying their company would make them more attractive than they are. The opposite would be a bit odd

My friends don't need to find me attractive, that's fine. But being a dick about it is not acceptable.

I'm friends with people I find unattractiveness, however I'm never rude to them because in the end I'm not friends with their appearance but them. And I truly hope that is the same when it comes to my friends.

Two rules I live by:

If the issue can't be fixed within short amount of time (food in between teeth, make up runny, unzipped pants and so on) - dont comment on it.

Only time rule number 2 can be broken is when asked.

A friend shouldn’t even be thinking about whether I am attractive or not though? Like can’t they just see me as a person? Yes I agree that friends uplift each other but it would be so weird for them to actually take the time to think about whether I am a beautiful person or not… and that would also be subjective unless they are assessing whether I am conventionally beautiful which is also weird. This a good question I just have a hard time answering
