I let my sisters rabbit free overnight?

So my sister has like 10 pets that she barely takes care of, just hoards them and locks them in one spot all day. I really felt bad for this bunny in particular bc it's big with a small cage, earlier that day I noticed he hadn't fed it all day so I did.. then I decided to let it free. I shouldn't have done it but he has so many pets it seems unfair to keep them locked up, depriving them of attention or food sometimes. He did the same thing with a bearded dragon that he had, which he now got rid. Anyway I just wanna if this was the right thing to do or should I be ashamed. Would appreciate honest feedback

Uhhhhhhh let it free in the house, or let it free outside? If you let it free in the house then it's not really going to be beneficial unless you also fed him, because he's more likely to eat things that could harm him long-term. And if you let him free outside, unless it's a fenced-in yard he's probably going to get eaten. Even if the yard is fenced in, cats and birds of prey can still get it.

No, this was not the right thing to do because you just gave that rabbit a death sentence. Chances are it will be killed by another animal. If you were smart you could have either surrendered it to someone that could have taken care of it's needs.

This was a domestic rabit and not trained by its mother to survive. It is probably cat food now.

It seems like it's a fully grown rabbit when he got it. I don't think he's that defenseless by I tried to get him in the cage this morning but he was too fast and knew where to hide. Our neighborhood doesn't have much wild animals or cats

I mean I'd feel bad too. I'm sure the rabbit thanked you for letting it out free and not locked up let's just hope it's okay and hope it went to good hands

I found him yesterday which was 2 days after i let him out, he was in the neighbors yard just chilling in the grass. I tried to bring him back home but he was too quick. I think he'll be safe bc there's not a lot going on in our neighborhood

Yeah he’ll have to find his way to get food and such. He probably feels better and free smelling the fresh air

How old is he? If he’s domesticated then he probably won’t know how to even fend for himself in the wild. Then there’s the added dangers of cats or other animals getting to him. Not to mention the traffic if he gets out onto the road. The better option was to rehome him or take him in yourself. I think that letting him free was an incredibly bad idea. I genuinely hope someone finds him and brings him in.

I found him this morning in my neighbors yard. I think he will he okay, he was gone for 2 days and he was just 1 house away from ours. So it seems like he's staying within the area. I agree I should of done something different
