How to prevent someone from wanting to go help at a war?

The person who I’m supposed to share my life with is going to war as a volunteer!

he doesn’t have a job and can’t find a job.
he is depressed about this and understandably so. He has been this way for too many years and has lost hope in ever finding a job so he says army is a job and can get money.

he is fixated in this and I don’t know how to help him understand that war will not can scan it make his life any better.

people who go there and survive have all the mental problems he already has now but multiplied.

the other two alternatives to that is being amputee or dead. Both awful.

how can a hard headed person who has their mind set on something be co me inched that their decision is not smart and can only further destroy their life.

Also, while war sucks, the army IS a job and he could luck into a non-combat position.

But it sounds like you're American so he's gonna be shooting innocents sooner than later.

He's a grown man. He can make his own bad choices.

All I can say is, we are all here because of some men out there killing and dying for us..
