Should all types of breeding of dogs be banned by law for a few years in order to try and better help dogs in shelters find homes?

So many people want puppies while thousands of dogs sit in shelters. Some sadly never being able to find their forever homes and as result they are tragically put down.

I understand adopting an older dog can have risk, especially if you don't know the history of that dog, but as someone who has adopted 2 dogs from the shelter. One a full bred rottweiler and the other a smaller mixed type of dog. I can honestly say this was one of the best decisions our family ever made. Those dogs were sweethearts.

It sucks, it really does.

But unfortunately people will still breed dogs illegally. It's just like trying to ban guns, but that's impossible to do when people got ways around a ban.
