Depends what you mean by know it all. If it is just someone who's smart, I have no qualms. In fact, in high school, one of my friends was the smartest person I have ever encountered. Even the way he spoke sounded very intellectual to the point I did not always know what he was saying, lol. But it was fine. If you mean someone who is condescending up on their high horse, no. I don't like those people, at all.

Some people like to learn and share what they find interesting with other people. Lots of dumb people think this is an attempt to show them up, but it's nk different than talking about your favorite sports team or knitting.

Some others are just arrogant and don't listen to others. In my experience, this latter group is the unrewarding people I avoid.

I don't mind being around people that are smarter than me, but not ones that constantly have a need to point out flaws in everything. The worst kind of people are those that really aren't very smart, but think they know it all and don't stop talking.

If they know everything, how can they possibly need a friend. They might need an admirer, a fawning sycophant, but why would they need a friend?

A friend can disagree with you frankly and still remain your friend.

We have a couple IKEs on the department.  I Know Everything.  They are fun to mess with, but I don't think I would like to date anyone like that.

Well I do know some people on here who, in certain fields, are nearly literally "know-it-alls" but recognizing what you actually mean, no. That would get annoying really quickly.

Depends on how they treat me. I've been around some rude know it all's and some nice ones. I prefer the nice ones. Especially the ones that like to joke around & be more playful.

I have a friend like that or did have a friend like that. We still see each other occasionally with other people, but I wouldn’t call herb a great friend.
