When you’re about to have a baby, should you inform your neighbours?

My friends baby is due next month, it’s her first pregnancy. She has really awful neighbours who don’t respect her property or her. They throw rubbish over the fence onto her backyard every week and they make a lot of noise early in the mornings and late at night. She’s been asking me if it’s the right thing to do to inform them that she’ll have a newborn soon, and let them know that it’ll probably be noisy with the baby crying at random hours.

I think it’s a bad idea because her neighbours are the type of people to make even MORE noise if they know that it’ll annoy the baby and stress her out. And I don’t believe that they deserve the courtesy of letting them know, after all, they’ve shown her no kindness.

I'm pretty sure they know just by looking at you.

Babies are more resilient than people give them credit for.

Noises they hear now won't bother them later in life, it won't even be noticed.

If you shelter them too much now that will create more problems later.

Remember they crossed the country in Conestoga wagons and were just fine.

Your baby will be fine.

My mom had me on the roof when they were building their house when I was a baby and I think that is why I became a firefighter.

I never got a go-kart when I was young so now I have a garage full of go fast toys.

My sister never let my nephew have any toy guns so every stick became a gun.

Kids eat dirt, bugs worms and they are fine, it's all part of growing up, and despite your best efforts they will grow up just fine.

Teach them how to treat others, be polite, decent Grammer, how finances matter, it's ok to say no and be a parent, not a best friend and you will be just fine.

Make a microwave waveguide gun and aim it at their home full-time.
They will stop doing ANYTHING related to your friend.

More seriously, if these neighbors do not own their home, then she should complain both to the police and to the landlord. We did that as did our neighbors on our side. Eventually, landlord evicted the troublesome neighbors and sold the home to responsible people.

It seems your friend has fallen into the trap of wanting to please people in the hope they will see her good qualities qnd see her as nice. Your friend owes them nothing and needs to not care about disrespectful people. She needs to set boundaries and stand up to them also. Or her husband or whatever her deal is.

Also she needs to install security camera and when they are throwing rubbish over the fence contact the cops and contact them if they are being super loud late at night

There's no reason to tell your neighbors. They will find out soon enough, especially if you hang a colored balloon outside to welcome the newborn.

If my neighbor threw trash over the fence into my yard, I would relocate it to their front yard, where the entire neighborhood can see it.

Up to them. If a neighbor asks, "Are you pregnant?" Then say something like, yes... lol. Not none of your business. Kinda unfriendly. But straight out telling them. Up to that person.

To a point, its none of anyone's business. But your neighbors could be good friends so they might want to know. They could give you a baby-shower and get free stuff.
