Why does my work friend want me to meet his fiance?

I've made friends with a guy at work.

We have a coffee catch up every few weeks and just talk for a bit if we see eachother in the kitchen or at the copy machine area.

He has a fiance, we had a coffee catch up on Friday and he asked me if I want to meet her one day this week on our lunch break.

I've got guy mates and have met their partners when they've got one.

Is it weird for a colleague to ask that?

I don’t think it’s weird, especially if you’re friends with him. I’ve had most of my friends meet my partner.
