What should you do if you have a friend who is nice to you but criticizes you at the same time and after you’re around them you feel down?

Tell him how you feel so that he understands what's bothering you. If he is a good friend he will try to change his behaviour if he is to hard on you.

But just understand that some people are so honest and direct that they will tell you the truth no mather how you feel about it. And we all know the truth can be a hard pill to swallow sometimes but you can't expect them to lie just to make you feel better.

But like I said... A good friend will keep in mind that he has to be more gentle about how to communicate things to make sure he doesn't keep hurting your feelings.

Guys are brutally honest towards eachother and they often bully eachother for fun talking trash to eachother to have fun. Maybe your friend isn't used to talking to girls because he never had girl in his life as plane friends

Communicate about it with him! Because he probably doesn't do it on purpose and he also doesn't know that it hurts your feeling

Sounds toxic. Sometimes people are unintentionally rude, but in most of these situations they know exactly what they’re doing. They stay around you because putting you down makes them feel better about themselves. Take this with a grain of salt however, because I’m not sure of your exact situation.

Well another thing is I’ll talk about something and she’ll interrupt me or respond with something completely unrelated. I’ll be like “I wonder what I should do next with my business” is met with “you’re going to find a great guy one day” like NO Segway! And also I’ll say how I’m just dating someone and she gets all worked up and tells me she’s gonna come to our wedding.
We’ll be at a restaurant and all she talks about is how cute the (married) bartender is and then she’ll make a scene and be like “where’s an outlet where I can charge my phone?”
I don't know I’m almost wondering if she’s on drugs or something.
