What are some offensive names you've called your friends, and did they just brush it off or were they offended?

When I was Head Of Security at one bar I bounced at, the other bouncers reported to me, but we were all buddies. One of the guys under me was a good dude but had a little bit of a soft streak in him, so I kind of picked on him a bit, all in good fun, but again, he was a little soft, so sometimes he’d be a little mad. One of the other guys who was under me but equal with the other kid was a friend of his from outside of work, so he kind of opened it up, and I ran with it.

Anyway, I started calling the kinda-soft kid “Cockboy”, lmfao, like from Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle. I kind of felt bad, I wanted him to defend himself more, but he would just look a little sad and walk away. Kind of took the fun out of it, except his friend thought it was hilarious, so it always got a laugh. He’d always be there shooting pool when he wasn’t working, so I even printed “Cockboy” out on the label maker we had for labeling beer taps and put it on his pool cue case to see how long he’d go before he noticed😂 I think I just dropped it because he wasn’t letting himself be in on the joke and it just felt mean, but it was kinda like “getting your balls busted is all part of being one of the bros, you have to eat it and laugh it off, and come back with return fire.”

Why would I call a friend an offensive name? Clearly if I'm friends with someone there's not going to be much offense taken either way. If a third person hears me call my friend something  they  find offensive then my standard response is a John Wayne quote: "I'm only responsible for what I say, not what  you  hear"

I call my ginger friends ranga (Aussie slang, short for 'orangutan'). It's considered to be an insult but gingers hear it a lot so you kinda expect them to shrug it off, but one of them got reaaally annoyed 😅
