Do you know your neighbors?

The people living next to you or just on your street. Do you know them?

Know them either by chatting with them occasionally or perhaps got them to babysit your kids periodically or borrowed something. Whatever the reason, you at some point got to know them?

The building I was in before this one, most of us knew one another to some extent. The super’s door was open most of the time, and I would hang out at their place often and would ride along on trash nights with the lady of the house looking for fixable/salvageable goodies. This was a long time ago when a lot more people curbed quality items. Others at the building had cars that could be worked on easily and I would often watch as they did so. Upon moving to where I am now, that sense of community almost completely vanished. Most residents just enter their flats without even a hello and lock their doors. There’s only one person here I’m comfortable chatting with, but that only happens when we cross paths in the halls or see each other outside. Since I’ve been here, kids have been banned from playing out front which doesn’t help for meeting anyone from their families.

I don't know the neighbors on my right though I've talk with them occasionally.

But I do know the neighbor on my left Dave/David and his wife he worked with my dad for a number of years and we chat quite often when we catch each other outside or he comes over when I'm in my truck relaxing. I've helped him move stuff into his house before. They have a rather talkative parrot.

Yes i know them lol to my left i have Vulla and Nick (Greek old married couple) they are lovely and have a beautiful back yard with a veggie garden (there front yard has beautiful rose bushes and little cute garden ornaments) harmless if anything

on the right i have Margaret and her two older boys. Margaret is in her late 80’s and her two older boys live with her to really look after her. Margaret’s husband Dan passed away last year so it was hard on everyone. They’re old school Aussies, have a nice hot rod in the shed, a couple of shot guns for hunting and they have a new member to the fam bam.. Skipper (a german shepard) who i’d like to steal one day haha He’s soooo cuteee

Not very well. I’ve never spoken to my neighbours on my left, but I’ve spoken to my neighbours on my right a few times. Usually not about good things. They can be a pain in the ass sometimes. I don’t like socialising with people unless I have to, especially neighbours.

Nah. I live in a house with roommates... although this one time I was gonna yell at them because their puppies wouldn't stop crying. turns out they weren't home for the holidays so these puppies were thirsty, hungry, need to go to the bathroom, wanted to play but couldnt' because they were locked up in their cage.

Sooo... when they did come home, i saw them but i don't know 'em.

Always helping each other but never too close, if that makes sense, I babysit my next door's 9 and 6 years girls, they are intrinsically evil lol, but they love staying at Uncle Peter's house because they get away with anything lol,,,

My family knows just about every household in our complex of flats. Sometimes it takes a while to get to kmow newcomers, but eventually we get to know them.

Some. However my house stands in district with houses owned by doctors, lawyer and business owner, this is very special community who doesn't invites each other to grill and garden parties without interest.

I chat a lot with my direct neighbors. One a little bit less, we used to be friends rather than just neighbors but he turns out to be a little bit of a red flag, so I'm distancing myself. But we're still okay.

We've personally met everyone on our block, the block across us and the block behind us. We usually just keep to ourselves unless we encounter each other outside and surely greet each other while walking our dogs, leaving or returning, etc.

I recently moved but yes I've met a few of my new neighbors already. I usually talk with them while we are waiting with our kiddos at the bus stop in morning

I’ve always became very good friends with my neighbors. An old neighbor of mine is actually a member of GAG.

We are a very friendly household! Between our pup and kids, we meet and know our neighborhood well😊

I live in a gated apartment community so most of my neighbors are college students really. I know some of them.

I don’t like next door neighbour they slam doors during the day and at night time and don’t have respect whatsoever they are neighbours from hell

Not here in Shanghai, I lived in another city before and I knew some neighbors and was friendly with them.
