Is intelligence important in a close friendship?

Could you actually be close friends with someone you find not that smart or are all of your close friends roughly as smart as you are?

I can be best friends with anyone

As long as they're not completely stupid is fine

It's okay to have people who are more intelligent and who are less intelligent. Friendship is not based on intelligence, it's based on the strength of the bond. Also everyone is intelligent in their own ways. Someone might be more intelligent in common sense while someone might be more intelligent in math, for one example of many. My own best friend is way smarter than me in science and math, as well as music, but why should that dictate that we are not friends. The only deal breaker is if you start getting used by the person.

Also another close friend of mine isn't that intelligent in math or common sense, but she's still intelligent in history and dealing with kids, and we still have a strong friendship.

I guess a close friend is someone you spend a fair amount of time with, so if you find them a bit stupid it can get frustrating at some point

It can, just as it can get frustrating when they prove their right about something, but relationships of all types are about communicating any issues or good things about it, building and growing together, and understanding one another more. Sometimes friends get frustrating, but that isn't a bad thing. It's only a bad thing when it gets worse and happens all the time.

I can be friends with almost anyone. Even people who do not seems sharp can be in some ways, or can be fun, or just have a view of the world that is beautiful.

Kinda need some brains for us to get along and go shopping. Been friends with a dumb friend but they just were a bad person not intelligence wise.

Never really care but all my close friends has a bachelor degree or higher if that counts? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Nah, I am far more intelligent than most of my friends. You can have a close friendship by connecting on other levels.
