Dealing with unforgiveness?

Theirs one person I feel like I can't forgive. His name is Joel and his dad us a pastor, I was always really nice to Joel. But after his cousin sexually assaulted me in college I called the police. He told people I wanted it. That I was a hoe bag. The worst thing is his dad is a pastor. I know he's not sorry but he's continually doing this even though we are almost 30 years old.

Forgiveness is a very very hard thing to do but you need to forgive him. Trust me I had to forgive a guy who completely betrayed me before. It took time but it actually releases you. And let me say this forgive and forget is a lie, you can forgive but you never forget. The guy who betrayed me I was able to get along with him after I forgave but I didn't trust him, it didn't change what he did. I just didn't hold that against him and choose to get along because I delt with him a lot for a little while after.

Try to focus on People you want in your life instead of the People you don't, Just try to ignore and focus on other things in your life that you like or want more of.

I know it's easier said than done, But you will be more Happier which will make the People you like more Attracted to you.

Just because the Police have been fed rumors about you, doesn't mean that they believe in hearsay.

I wouldn't give up on the case against the cousin who sexually assaulted especially since that is a crime that needs addressed.

It's quite understandable that you don't want to forgive them, even more when none of the are sorry.

However, forgiveness is quite a burden to bear and it might eat you up inside.

Eventually, you'll come to terms with this dilemma.

some things are unforgivable. It's one of them. Try to put it in the past so it doesn't poison your present life.

i would say its ok to not forgive, but i would suggest maybe seeing some professional about it to help you not dwell on it so much.

But the best thing here is, if you can, cut them out and never speak to them again.

Forigiveness is not for him, it's for you. It's a way to tell yourself: "he doesn't have power over me anymore. I won't give him that power. I'll remember what he did and never trust him, but he won't ruin my life."
