For those who have kids, is it better to let your kids believe in Santa and all the other things or is it better to not do that stuff with them?

I've been thinking about when I become a mom and if I should have my kids believe in that stuff. Sure it's fun but it's also not real, I feel like as someone who grew up believing I think I'd rather them not believe in something that's not real like that. Would that be so bad to not do that kind of stuff with my kids? Ofc I'll still do stuff with them on holidays and it will be fun but I'm not sure about leading them to believe in all this stuff as a kid.

Well, I believed in Santa and all that growing up, and I don’t think I’m any better or worse for it as an adult. I actually feel like those are fond memories, they make the holidays seem more whimsical and fun. There’s also such a short chunk of our lives that we get to be young and believe in fantasies compared to adulthood, so why not create magic for the kids. However, I wouldn’t be against skipping Santa and Easter bunnies, because I don’t think knowing the truth from the start negatively affects peoples childhoods either. The only Hangup is if you’re teaching your kid one thing and some kid from school is learning another. Clashing over what’s real or not real could be more hurtful than just enjoying the fantasy.

This is a tough one! There's no right or wrong answer. Some people love the magic of Santa and the excitement it brings kids. Others think it's better to be honest from the start.

I didn't follow that sht , but they decided to believe for a while ( with friends etc ) I thought a good outcome , told them the truth then they decided to live the fantasy for a little while , this way we just didn't talk about it..

in my opinion I say let them enjoy being innocent children. It's brings joy to them to believe in Santa and the like.
