Is it ok and normal to cry if your child has chickenpox?

My male cousin's 7 month-old daughter just got the chickenpox. It's all over her body. The baby has been fussy, isn't smiling as much and seeing her crying, made him cry too. He broke down for a bit.

He and his wife know the solution to this and are applying the cream. Even though they know what to do, he still cried. I think this is a good reason to cry. Is it ok to cry if your child has chickenpox?

He knows what he's doing but he just couldn't stand seeing his baby daughter cried in discomfort and pain.

i mean, any parent wouldn't want their child to be in pain or uncomfortable. tho not all parents will cry about it (nothing really to cry about). he just has a different level of empathy.

tbh i would think that's sort of immature. it sure sucks but she won't die. she'll be good. a kid can only cry but as the adult, you shouldn't behave like the kid. not saying that it's "totally unacceptable to cry" in this situation. i just find it childish.

No one likes seeing their child suffer. I wouldn't overthink it.

Most people get it. If you have a child you have to expect that kids get sick. If you have a child you are the support who they look up to and kids don't miss much. From their perspective is crying supportive? I would think it would scare them.
