What is your opinion on boarding schools?

I can't help but think of boarding schools as places for kids who are delinquents or who's parents just can't be bothered dealing with parenting them.

I think some parents may feel as though it's a great opportunity and increases the chance their kid (s) will get into better schools, but it's a lot to trust them with. I've heard of some of them getting into drugs and all kinds of trouble attending boarding schools.

the school Drama Queen is attending is a boarding school. It's a private school and quite a good one and parents send their kids here for a good education in a friendly environment. Drama Queen befriended a few kids who return home on weekends and all of them seem content about the solution...

but Drama Queen needs a more personal touch so I would never decide on a boarding school for her. We are lucky the school is close to us, so she can attend it and return home every day

I always saw boarding schools as a kind of pre-college for rich kids. Encouraging independence while also giving them lavish lifestyles they wouldn’t have at any other type of school.

Mostly for rich people to stash their kids because they are too busy to raise them themselves. My brothers roommate in college went to a fancy boarding school and he had rich parents. He was not any smarter than the rest of us.

What’s the point of having kids if you’re going to send them away for all those years? Then they go to college and they’re gone and you hardly see them

however... I've seen and known absent parents and that neglected their children so much that, they would have been way better at a boarding school
