Who is your role model, and has that changed since you were a kid?

If it has, who was your role model as a child?

I didn't need one. I was my own self-made role model.

I didn't do drugs or become an alcoholic. I don't lie. I don't hurt people. I am not weird. I am pretty normal compared to a lot of especially now a days.

I landed my first job at age 16 and drove a stick shift car that I taught myself how to drive it.

I never got in trouble with the law.

I truly always cared about other people and was a very good friend to people I am still friends with since junior high school. My friends could confide in me about anything and I did not pass judgement on them, but listened to them and helped them when asked.

I was and still am an excellent mother to my son and have references to back that up.

I worked 30 years while being a single mom for a lot of those years.

I am a God fearing woman and I believe in Jesus Christ as my savior. I raised my son to be spiritual and he still is. He is also saved and will be going to heaven when he dies. That is such a wonderful feeling for a mother to know her child won't be going to hell 🔥 when he dies.

I was always an excellent employee and was never late to work or had issues with missing work. I worked hard.
People used to breeze by my desk and say "Don't work too hard" and I would reply by saying "Why bother coming here if you're not going to work hard"?

That's enough for now. There is nothing wrong with being a self-made role model. Especially if you are willing to be a good one!

My role model as a kid was my mom. I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. I wanted to be a good mom to my kids and let them have fun the way my mom let me. I wanted to be compassionate like she was, pretty like she was, smart like she was.
And then there came the divorce, and her drinking got worse, she dated a lot of shitty guys, and things didn’t really get better for her until she got sober. She’s currently 16 years sober, much happier too. She still bears the scars that came from drinking, and the ones that made her drink in the first place. She’s still pretty, still compassionate, still so intellectual and open-minded. I couldn’t have asked for a better mother.
I don’t want to be a mom anymore, but she’s still my role model. I want to be like her, that same compassion, that bravery to bear her scars fearlessly, the knowledge and wisdom that comes from knowing who she is and the long and arduous journey it took to get her there.

I don't think I had one as a child. I don't know if this counts as a role model but the person I admire most is a girl who was/is a friend. When she was 18 she was in a car accident and told she would probably be unable to walk or talk again. She decided that she would do both again, and now does. I see her as the spirit of determination and resilience that I hope to have if I ever need it.

My role models are my parents and my boyfriend. He has been through so much past abuse when he was younger and has overwhelming feelings at times but he doesn't let them stop him.

my grandma... she was a strong woman, who traveled after her love from Ireland to Poland shortly after WWII ended... she was 16 years old and dressed to look older...

she needed three years to reunite with the man of her life... she learned Polish, got work and after some time even the citizenship...

she taught me to never give up, shared stories with me, helped me with my social anxiety and was the best person in my life...

@ez-bri-z_v2 My role model was a female lawyer who is very open minded and even came on news few times.  Because of her I studied law, but then change my job. But she is still my role model

All my baseball coaches since they coached me when I was super young how to be a teammate and good person. I think know their guidance still stands but Boy Scout leaders also added stuff for guidance
