Why are so many families broken anymore?

It seems like families nowadays will disown their kids over any little thing. So many divorces and other things, what happened?

Therapy and tools for self growth have become more readily available. People realized a lot of their parents are not only flawed as people, but flawed in their parenting as they raised their child to be obedient rather than be their own person. That can create problems with how strict they are with that message of obedience. Obviously adults have issues with their parents not treating them as such, not to mention parents having issues with their child challenging their authority instead of doing what they want them to, which doesn’t even touch on parents who live vicariously through their kids and get mad when they don’t do what they would have, or parents that are just straight up abusive.

I think it's due to elevated expectations. In the past, people were grateful to be alive and wanted food and shelter. Now they want a playstation and videos games and vacations and ice cream and chocolate cake and parties. Also new technologies mean our economy can survive with fewer labour hours by males and females so a lot of people have become arrogant due to living a self serving and self gratifying existence with no commitment to anything at all. The fact people believe they always have options means they are less tolerant with the options they already have.

Liberal morals are anti-family. The more people have liberal morals, the more the family unit is ruined. Liberals in the government strongly encourage and contribute to that.

people watch TV and want to have the same, be the same... now... without any effort...

raising kids is hard work... I wouldn't disown mine... I'm responsible for who they become... so it will be like throwing out the result of an experiment that didn't go well...
