no, despite social conditioning, which particularly is stronger in control regarding females.. if a person has a negative effect on your existence and has nothing to offer in happily giving their energy into their time with you, then no, no, no... i drew a line with my own mother, she literally cannot be anything else other than negative and quite frankly im sick of it... so i barely see her now... i feel guilt on a daily basis but then have to remind myself i avoid her as to keep my own happiness and self belief in tact, xx
To a once a year Dad say goodbye the only thing good he has done for you is staying away God only knows how much worse he could have made your life if he were involved in it. The only thing he did was have sex with your mother and she had you and loves you and cares for you without the help of your father. nothing there to feel bad about
That is entirely up to you in your specific situation. Only you know your life details. For me I tired of how many times he let people down, most especially my mother. And my sister grew to be just like him so still dealing with it.

Im not telling him happy father's day. Being a father doesn't mean making a baby. It means being there.
This is true. He needs to put in the effort with you to heal the hurts. Does he ever try? It could be apprehension more than lack of caring. It's impossible for me to know. But I hope so.
No, he does good for a week or two then dissappear again for months. Im over it. He pops back up if he's sick then or needs surgery then once he's better dissappears
I'm so sorry. Family is complicated. Friends and even neighbors can often be so much more reliable. Hold on to those people who are there for you. They are priceless.
