How good are you at making friends?

Personally, I have become worse at it as I get older. I can have a pleasant conversation but I always feel the need to remain distant for some reason. I would say I currently only have two close friends, and no current online friends. Surely it's not just me?

Do you avoid talking to people? Do you find yourself to be more of a loner than not? IRL friends versus online friends?

I have no problem making friends

same. i have never been good at making friends. any friend i have, they made the effort sadly lol. my social skills are pretty much underdeveloped.

i prefer very few friends in general. it's easier for me. i get mentally exhausted if i have more than a few friends. i don't know how people keep up with them

I think I can understand that. Maybe it's a product of the world we live in. Everything's too stressful as adults that we have to pick and choose where to spend our energy. Some people seem naturally chatty, and then some introverts just don't have the social energy to spread between more than a few people. So much for being a social species, hmm? ✨ Lol

Yeah. When you’re an adult, it becomes more difficult to make (and maintain) friends. It’s indeed a struggle. 🫤

I appreciate the reply. It gives me a little comfort knowing that I'm at least not alone, but it's a hollow victory considering the subject matter is still bleak.

Well, I'd like that, but I really struggle to do something like that. I get the feeling I would not be a good friend, and maybe I need to work on myself or something before I can rejoin the lighter side of society.

Frankly, I am simply just a boring guy to talk to.

The idea of making friends sounds lovely, but when it comes time to answer messages I get anxious about it. I don't know what's wrong with me, and it's not like I intend to be distant (like the second sentence on my original question) it just kind of happens. And letting you down, or letting anyone else down seems like pain I should avoid taking a risk on.

However, I'll be happy to follow you on here, since you seem nice for even offering. If not, then that's okay as well.
