Is she disgusted by me? if yes then why does she talk to me?

There's a girl in my school. she is very nice to all people. Despite her kindness, she is not spontaneous nor is she loud and she hardly ever talks or even says hi to people who are not her friends (she talks a lot with her friends though). This habit of not talking to non-friends goes especially for guys (this girl only has one guy friend, the rest of her friends are girls). I'm not her friend but for some weeks now, this girl has been saying hi to me. The only time she does this though is before this one class (seriously, it is only before the begining of this one class) and she won't say hi if I'm around my friends and if her friends (If I'm near my friends, they'd start talking to me and if she's near her friends, they'd talk to her). After she says hi and if I don't say anything after I say hi to her, she usually asks "how's it going?" . I answer and I try to keep the conversation going with a question("hi" and "how's it going" are the only things she says during all of our talks. I usually try and keep the talk going by asking a question. She answers and then she asks me the same question. I've seen her with her friends and she talks a lot more. I don't understand why she is different with me especially since she started the talk). One day this incident happened. I was waiting in a line and then the girl and one of her friends came into the line. They were behind me. The girl's friend then tried to push the girl into me. The girl stopped herself and she was like "NO!". I don't think they realise that I knew what happened behind me. Is she disgusted by me or something? if so then why talk to me?
