so yes, it can work... if you have a true genuine friendship

to this very same day, they're still best friends to each other and they're friends with me as well, so that's possible

They work for me because I don’t talk much so I mostly listen to the other two yap and occasionally join in. Sometimes we hangout one on one but mostly as a trio, especially when we’re all in the same state because one of us is in the navy so we’re often not in the same place.

You are being drawn to people for various reasons so you can have very good, friendship relationship, with multiple people; if you form a friendship based group with several people, a 'Friendship Trio', all the better.
