AITA for not letting my friends borrow my clothes?

I know this is a silly question, but my best friend now thinks negatively about me because I said I don't want her or other friends to borrow my clothes/makeup. In the past, people have borrowed my stuff and either not returned it, given it back ruined or other things. So I don't feel comfortable lending it out now. Some of my clothes are quite expensive and I had to save up for them, and it gives me anxiety now to lend them out.

But my best friend wants to borrow my clothes, and I said no, sorry. Now she thinks I'm bad for not letting her borrow them. Am I bad?

you are NOT required to give your friends YOUR clothes for them to wear. honestly i think it's weird to lend out clothes. and yeah, there's a chance you'll never see those clothes again. don't feel bad about it! any friend that would mind you saying no, is actually not a real friend. they can think negatively all they want (stupid thing to think negatively about someone by the way). if they ask why, you give the same reason you gave here (you never return it, you ruin my clothing, etc)

Absolutely not. It's a boundary you have that your friends should be respectful of. Lending your things to other people is a favor. You're under no obligation to do it, and it's entitled as fuck if they think they have any right to get angry at you over it.

Not in the slightest... Other than lending/borrowing my elder sister's clothes, I have never, ever trusted anyone else.
