Do you 'pay' your friend after asking for their help?

Help in terms of work mostly, maybe doing a tiny bit of the assignment part, or asking for help by asking them to accompany you to go somewhere.
Then will you give money or buying them lunch as a gratitude?

I think it's always nice when someone helps me and to show my appreciation I will take them to lunch or buy them a little gift.

If they lend you money return it.

If not then no need to but you gotta help them when they seek it though but treating them with food is great. Just don't make it feel like they helped you for money
