Out of all your friends would you want to be the last one alive?

I have a picture of myself and three of my friends. I am the only one left. I do not know what to think about it.

my best friend from HS passed away 11 years ago... she had heart problems...

I've never seen those events that way... like if I will be the last of the group... and I hope it won't change... but I observe elders in my family, and they are often like that...

I cherish my friends, my family... I want them live as long as it's possible... but if they passed... I think about them often... make them exist in my memory...

It is really hard to lose people that were so integral in your life. My best friend moved away 4 yeas ago and it was hard. We still emailed each other but it was not the same. Guys are supposed to be tough but I don't feel very tough

I would like to see my friend Janet be the last one of the girls.

I met her when I was 14 and she was 12. I took her under my wing many times as we were growing up.
We are still friends and still in touch. It was her 68th birthday yesterday and I sent her a Happy Birthday greeting on her phone.
I have never forgotten Janet or her birthday on August 5th.
She's a good woman!!

One died of kidney failure, He had a kidney transplant snd it finally failed. The other two died of cancer.

@exitseven Don't do that to yourself. You become what you project yourself to be , or how you feel about your self. You are only 4 years older than my yoga instructor and she is FAR FROM BEING OLD.

Retirement can make you think/feel that way.
Can get a part time job to hang with some young/fun people or people with more positive outlook in life can make life more colorful.
Through out our travel, we meet/talk to young people to understand who they are, what they want in life. It’s quite pleasant to see some with great ambitions.
My hubby is older than you.
Due to my bubbly personality and positive outlook in life…I think he is starting to get a little silly and younger each day!
Now that to me is living a good/happy life regardless if one is rich or poor.

I will be teaching a few IT courses in the fall and I feel like I am good with my decision to retire. Still I am freaked out seeing all my friends die. It is a big hole in my life.

You are a survivor. I have lost a few friends from accidents, cancer, and know of losses to COVID. Do as I do, and try to cultivate and keep new or past friendships. That is all you can do as time passes.

One of my high school friends died on the day I took my final exam for university. She lived a remarkably dynamic life but she died young.

Many of my friends have died or moved away. I'm grateful to still be alive and healthy.

It's rewarding though. And surprising how close you can become with new people later in life. Though you never have the bond as those lifelong relationships, those people knew your past.
