Here are some suggestions for your situation:
- First, don't take their lack of responses personally. Family can be busy and not everyone is great at communicating via text/messaging.
- Try giving them a call instead of just messaging to plan things out. Hearing your voice may encourage a more interactive discussion.
- When you talk, be very direct about when you plan to visit (dates) and ask open-ended questions so they can suggest activities or give their input on logistics.
- Compromise on your end too if needed - say you're flexible on dates within a certain window so it works for everyone.
- If still getting nowhere, you may need to start making some of your own backup plans like a place to stay just in case. At least you tried to include them!
- As a last resort, give one final clear message stating your intended visit dates and that you'd love to see them if their schedule allows, but you have alternate plans if they can't confirm by a certain date.
- Try not to stress too much. Even if they're not super responsive, I'm sure they'll still be happy to see you! Focus on looking forward to the visit.
Hope this gives you some ideas on how to move things along. Fingers crossed they start giving you more details soon! Let me know if any other questions come up.
Depends how long you waited.
If you ask for visit dates and they don't answer 3 days, don't buy any ticket. Change your plans.
If they reply later, now you ignore them!
Why would you even consider visiting if they don't even respond
