What would you do if you caught feelings for a friend?

Happened to me several times for few of my female friends.

I'll risk our friendship and initiate something, hopefully to get something more. If I'll get rejected I'll try to keep being the friend

I wouldn't tell him unless I was sure he felt the same way and this has actually happened to me before I had a giant crush on someone I had been friends with for years and during our last year of high school I was thinking of telling him I liked him but I chickened out but one night about a month after we graduated and he told me he liked me and asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes and as of now we've been together for a little over 2 years
