Does this make me weird as a mother?

Is it weird that although I have a son, in general, I still don’t necessarily like kids but I do love my son. I wouldn’t harm him or give him up foe anything in this world. I would risk my life for his but I still don’t like kids. I don’t know if that makes sense without seeming like a bad person/mom.

You are not a bad mother! You love your child and that’s all that matters. You don’t have to love anyone else’s kids, or children in general.

Makes sense to me. It REALLY bothers me that this USA cult of motherhood dogma says moms can't have regrets, wishes, made different choices, second thoughts, what ifs? WHY NOT? Hell it's even a horrific TABOO to even talk about!! It's not right and it's not fair. I see you and it's ok! 🤗💯👍🏻

If you love him , and keep showing love for him , and do all you can for him , then it certainly does not make you a bad mother. Just focus on your attitude to your boy , other children don't matter so much.

Well, the best thing about your own kids is when they are being annoying, you can tell them. Also, they know your rules and boundaries. These are things that you can set early on..

That’s totally fine. You can love your son without liking other kids. Your feelings are valid and don’t reflect on your abilities as a mom. Just make sure to be a good mom
