Why is life so many times a Lose-Lose proposition?

It seems like sometimes no matter what you do, you're at the wrong end of some critic somewhere. Try to be perfect... you'll be criticized for that...  you know I'm right! Have you ever felt that way?

Critics-wise. You'll never please everyone. And sometimes you will never please anyone. That is why there's only one person you need to please. Yourself. And if you are your harshest critic and the one who hurts you the most, the. It's time to seek therapy. Self criticism in excess can be really dangerous

The question to ask is what makes these people so important that their opinion of you actually matters? By accepting their judgement you're telling yourself they are your superiors.

Their critism is usually a way of deflecting from the fact they don't have the courage or ability to do what you do.

I'm pretty aware of my own shortcomings, so I rarely worry about what others say. If they have a point, then I accept it, and decide if I want to deal with it, but ultimately I stopped worrying about those things.

Professionally, I have to worry about my customers' opinions of my work, but there's very few people whose opinions of my personal life that I care about. I don't need social validation from acquaintances, much less strangers, so I spend virtually zero energy on any of that.

I don't think life is a lose lose most of the time. Sometimes you have to go through a tough time because it's the best option in that moment and it will help you later on but most of the time I'm having a good time.
