1 yI'm not really friends with anyone from High School or before, so that would have to be a tie between two friends I made the first week of college that are still my best friends. A girl who I intended to date but instead ended up best friends with, and a guy that was in two classes with me that first semester and would end up being my roommate the rest of undergrad. I still regularly get together with them, text, call, etc.

I realize I forgot to say how many years... Freshman year was 18 years ago. They've both been such an important part of my life for nearly half of it.
Asker1 yInteresting 🤔

I lost all my primary school and high school friends. I have a friend I’ve known for fifteen years. That’s about the oldest friend I’ve got.

Since secondary school so 16 years now, I met her at camp and we threw a squishy toy at one another for an hour lol

Asker1 yThat's quite the way to meet missy
Where y'all being punished? What the hell y'all be playing 😂- 1 y
Nah we went on a walk for an hour around midday and also did two activities, I can't remember the order but it was out of rock climbing, abseiling and canoeing with the third one done the next day. But a few of us just wanted to settle down rather than go on a second walk and while pissing ourselves with laughter we played a game of awkward catch for an hour, while everyone else went on an evening pitch black walk.
Asker1 ySo you were basically allowed to do what you want? They didn't have schedules or anything? I always thought camp was like a less annoying version of school lol
- 1 y
It was full of schedules and fun activities, but that time not everyone went, in my year there were 6*30 students and there were two camps so around 90 of us went. One time they said not everyone has to go on the night time walk so about 10 of us stayed at the camp. Also they split the 90 into three and rotated around the three activities over 3 days 2 nights, one camping and one in dorms (split into two and swapped).
Asker1 yDo all camps work the same?
Asker1 yThats interesting, I never knew camps were connected to schools, I thought it was like a business and just a business
- 1 y
I dunno, a lot of camps around here are just buildings etc, each thing is decided by the organiser I'm sure there is organised camping, but the whole point of camping is to let free and go into the wild. Since that one was organised by the school they booked the area and dorms, looked up local trails, and booked the activities with the specialists and equipment included. We each had to pay I think £180 and probably 75-90 went so around £14,400 was for the 2 night trip total so including both groups the school had around £28,800 to work with to organise two identical camp trips.
Asker1 yI never thought they were so complicated but that's pretty interesting tho, I guess if you never would've went, you'd never meet your friend
Asker1 yOh then I guess either ways it might have been meant to be, sounds like a strong friendship tho, that's what's up

1 yMy closest circle these days are my friends who I mostly met my first day or two of college. I can’t believe it was this long ago, unfuckingbelievable, but we’re up to 27 years now. I can’t believe I’ve even been alive for 27 years, let alone been an adult the whole time. Don’t blink, kids, it all goes SUPER fast😭

1 yMy five longest friendships are 68 years, 67 years, 62 years, 53 years and 47 years. I've seen two of them within the last few weeks. With a bit looser definition of friend, I could add quite a few more people.

Yes I am. It's just this year is going by so fast. Can't believe it's already October. Also had death in my family so that may be why I didn't think of it being October already. My mind hasn't been on time tbh.
