What event did you finally tell the truth to your parents about? We're they surprised? Still upset or laughed? Did they think it was your sibling? ?

Some stuff we kids told Mom about:

It was my brother who broke into the house while drunk and smashed the screen door window to get at entry door.

It was me who stole the car when it was at the service station the night before an oil change.

We both snuck lots of girls in. One of mine hid in the closet naked when my mom knocked, told her I was getting dressed and then she came in.

It was my sister who pulled the toilet paper roller out of the tiled wall

Weirdly enough I've my memoirs written up to my age, dated, categorized, and in good detail, not polished grammar wise but I've covered my entire living life so far.

I name and date them separately, I intend one day to have my parents read my memoirs written today at 24 down the line. See what my perspective was now that I'm 35 let's say. It's pretty raw in there, but overall if my parents want the real unfiltered 24 yo perspective, it's there.

I think it will be interesting overall but in general now at my age I still don't tell them anything I did or got away with, mostly because I don't intend to hear 8 year old reproofs of my actions.

I never told them about anything. Some stuff they found out on their own. The one that comes to mind is that when my parents went out they would go in my fathers car. My brother and me would take my mothers car out and drive around town, We were 14 years old. We would go see our friends and wave at them as we drove by. We would got out for about an hour and get the car back in the driveway. We always put a marker down so it would be exactly where we found it.

One day we were driving home and my fathers car was already in the driveway. They came home early for some reason. He was not amused. They never left the keys lying around again.

I only confessed to pretty much everything at the time I actually did it, including It was me who drank half of all the bottles of sprite in the extra refrigerator down in the basement, then filled each one up with water and and put tops back on in a way they looked untampered with. Neither my parents or any other adult believed any of my confessions. I could get away with anything, so I had to start actually being a good person because all of the other kids kept getting blamed for my misbehavior and I couldn't stand seeing them being punished for it.

I was usually pretty honest with my parents. My little brother though was a liar when it came to using his disability against my other brother and I. He would tell my mom we hurt him when we weren't even in the same room with him. So it took until we were much older that my mom finally caught on.

I think for me it was talking to my parents about my sexuality preferences. They weren't really surprised though my dad didn't take it well really.

You had some very interesting times. I unfortunately was 10 years younger than the youngest of the other four and all but one out of the house, so whenever some mystery thing happened it was always "Katie did it'

We taped Dinky the silver gray poodle's bum, we were little, but it was obvious me and Lori taped his bum he couldn't poo.
