How and where to have more friends at this age?

What do you do in your spare time? There's nothing wrong with spending time alone and you can get a lot done, but it is a lot of fun to be with others and enjoy some social time. Getting out of the house is easy, yet for some folks, fear is what keeps them indoors. Fear of what can happen to them. I hope that's not your case.

Begin by trying a hobby you always wanted to do. What are your interests? Then see if you can find a meetup group (called MeetUp on line) in your area that has people meet up to do just that. There are art groups for drawing and painting, music groups for those who know how to play an instrument and want to get together with people who do this to play together, cooking groups, book clubs, walk groups for hikers and people who have pet dogs who go to parks and walk their dogs or just hike, and movie groups for those who are film buffs. You go together, watch a movie ion a theater and then maybe meet up for dinner. I belong to such a group, and also a wine club that meets on Fridays. It's not expensive to join these groups; my one club charges $5.00 at the door. You bring your own wine if you want to share with others. You bring a snack, and you can do the wine tasting for another 5 bucks (they will give you 4 samples of wine. I hear there are beer groups that do the same.

Another thing you can do is learn a new language that you always wanted to learn, or just out of curiosity if it's your thing. There is a language exchange group that will connect you to people from around the world that want to learn English, and they will become your penpals via this site. Mine is called Conversation Exchange. If you look for this site, it's really simple, and you create your own account. You can later travel to these countries to meet with friends you have made over the course of time.

I don't know what kind of things you like, but those are just some ideas. If you're into different causes, you can always become a volunteer of anything you want to help. They can always use help from people with spare time.

You gotta regularly go places again. The library, a bar, a game store might be easiest to see if any tabletop gamers are looking for another player, nerd communities are easy to get into when you learn about the nerdy stuff

Go do activities that interest you. Could be almost anything. Joining a local chess club if you like to play. And I always recommend volunteering, as you will meet people who genuinely care about others.

Get involved in clubs or something like that.

There's good reason for that. I can see why.
