Why are millennials so overly obsessed with having a child free wedding?

So my 30 year old cousin and his Karen wife are planning a child free wedding. My husband and I give my cousin the side eye and called him out went on telling him how cruel disrespectful and selfish him and his future Karen of bridezilla future wife are. I grab my phone and called my favorite aunt explain how her son was being unreasonable about not including our two little angels. We had a bad experience at a child free wedding this past summer with a Karen couple. Well my aunt is very considerate and toldy cousin she isn't attending the wedding if my son isn't the ring bear since his selfish bridezilla wants to only include her side of the family. Well my aunt isn't so happy about my cousin choice. I remember back in the 90's children were included in the weddings. Now a days why more millennial couples decided to plan out child free weddings? I mean why?

I've been to child-free weddings and I've been to weddings with kids. The thing you have to remember is that it's not about your kids. It's about the couple getting married, in particular the BRIDE.

No bride wants to be upstaged at her own wedding by anyone. It's inappropriate to do so. And even if your children are the innocent angels you paint them as - and as the father of a six year old myself I can assure you they aren't - not every child has been taught to be Victorian in their behaviour.

That gives you the choice of going or sending a card thanking for the invitation and wishing them a happy marriage.

Anything else you do actually makes you the Karen for insisting your children be there and potentially ruining the day for the couple getting married.

Everyone is not required to love your children and enjoy every minute spent in their presence. Some parents take children and exercise no control over them at the reception. Some people are truly annoyed by children running rampant like hyenas at a wedding.

And most weddings are expensive affairs and the couple must pay $75-100 per person attending. Why should a couple pay an extra $150-225 to have little kids in attendance, kids who are not actually going to celebrate the wedding in any meaningful way, and who are going to be an annoyance? If they gave you the choice of paying that extra $225 so your three kids could attend, would you do that? Probably not, so why should they be required to do it?

If you don't like it, just don't go, but you don't need to whine to the rest of the world how unfair it is that someone else does not think your kids are indispensable at their wedding. Your whining is just revealing part of who you are.

That is very rude of you Sir. How dare you called innocent children annoying. Sad. My husband and I plan on adopting twin babies. We have no issues having a beautiful happy family. I can tell you don't have children of your own so you don't understand the joy of having children in our lives. You must be a millennial in your 30's for sure I am not surprised all you millennials guys care about is video games , going out to the club and still want to act like you college guys. Well this is the real world yet you complain why you can't get a girlfriend. My husband is the greatest he plays sports with the kids, we spend a lot of family time together watch movies at home play games and most importantly he knows his scriptures reads his Bible each and every day and he is very devoted to God we'll all Gen X guys are loving to the Lord unlike you millennials going out to the world listening to secular music instead of Christian music. Why even bother wasting my time explaining I am sure you must be eathist.

Maybe they want to serve alcohol at their wedding, or they're afraid of loud, obnoxious children causing problems, or they just hate kids.

Perhaps a better reason than all of those is because it's THEIR wedding, and if they don't want kids there, then that's THEIR decision.

If excluding children keeps you away from their wedding, then it sounds like they made the right choice.

Kids can be wild and apparently some parents don't watch their brats at weddings so kids cause trouble.
