Can a girl actually inherit a terrible trait from a male family member?

Last week, my parents and I were invited to a huge social gathering. There is a 10 year-old girl that's been watched and kept away from pets and other smaller kids. The parents have taken her to a child psychologist and taken actions after several things happened last year.

The girl's uncle (from the father's side) is serving time in prison for DV, drug possession and an animal cruelty charge. It's said he was a troublemaker since early childhood and the only single black sheep among the siblings; the only one defected. He would get into fights with classmates, laughed when doing bad things, etc. Last year, the girl (then 9 years old) peed on a classmate's notebook, blackmailed a boy into doing stuff for her or else she'll cry and scream saying he attacked her, a toddler would cry every time she was around and she got caught trying to throw a puppy on the dumpster. Neither of the couple's 2 other children (both boys) act that way.

I thought it's more common for such terrible traits to be passed down from male to male. Can it be inherited from male to female child?

The parents were obviously alarmed. Their daughter reminded them of the guy's brother; that's similar to how he started as a kid too and everyone thought it was just a phase he would outgrow soon. He never did. He got worse.
