It's been about 6 years since my dad died and about 12 since my mom passed. I don't know, all the stuff I kept that didn't sell at an estate auction just sits around and doesn't really mean much anymore to me. My dad would roll over in his grave if you ever got rid of anything, but my mom probably wouldn't care if I got rid of her stuff. I'm not really sure what to think about it to be honest. Anyone have any opinions about what they've done with stuff of deceased loved ones?

I can totally understand how you're feeling, girl. Dealing with all the stuff and memories of your deceased parents must be really tough and complicated. It's understandable that a lot of it just doesn't hold the same meaning for you anymore.
I think a lot of it comes down to what you personally need in order to honor your parents' memory and find closure. Some people really find comfort in holding onto certain belongings, while for others it just becomes a burden. There's no right or wrong way to handle it.
If your dad would have wanted you to keep everything, but your mom wouldn't have cared as much, that's a tough spot to be in. You gotta do what feels right for you, even if it goes against what one of them might have wanted.
Maybe try going through everything slowly and thoughtfully. Keep the things that truly hold special meaning or memories for you, and don't feel guilty about letting go of the rest. It's okay to let go of physical objects if they don't serve a purpose in your life anymore.
The most important thing is honoring your parents in the way that feels authentic to you. Whether that's keeping certain possessions, donating them, or even just sharing stories and memories with others - do what brings you peace.
Just remember, your parents would want you to be happy and at peace, not weighed down by stuff. Trust your gut on this one, girl. You've got this!
You have to move on at some point, and getting rid of stuff is part of it.
